Happy Summer!  I didn't have to wait until the Independence Day week-end to say it; we have had more than one heat wave already!  Holidays and heat aside, worship is a kool thing to do!!  So, I hope you will stop by at 10 am on Sunday mornings to sing a a few favorite hymns, share prayer & scripture with us and, if you have enough time, a cool drink.  Small churches are friendly places as well as places of faith & hope.  We would love to welcome you to the United Methodist Church of Merrick.  

Many of you share our sadness at the sudden death of Florence Pressler; she was an outstanding cheerleader for the Lord and we miss her so much.  Despite our loss, the Church of Jesus Christ lives on by offering hope and help to members and strangers in our community.  We support a nearby Food Pantry and other local missions as well as UM projects around the world.  Meanwhile, we are celebrating the 60th anniversary of our founding and invite everyone to enjoy our reunions and special speakers.  Rev. Glenn Adone will be here for a Gospel Song Fest on July 11th.  All are welcome and I hope to see you there.  Call me if you have a question.  Pastor Morgan
